Qiang Zhang is a lecturer in Chinese in the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining Penn in 2025, she taught Chinese at all levels at institutions including Harvard University, Duke University, Brown University, and the Middlebury Language Schools. She holds a master’s degree in Chinese Linguistics and Language Acquisition from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her teaching and research interests focus on curriculum design, Chinese language acquisition, and innovative pedagogical approaches. She is the co-author of the forthcoming textbook Developing Advanced Proficiency in Chinese through Modern Issues, Volumes I & II, to be published by Routledge.
