2024 EALC MA alumnus Chunhao Luo wrote his Master's thesis, Environmental Etiology and Imperial Expansion: Miasma in Lingnan from the Twelfth to the Seventeenth Centuries, in fulfillment of his research requirement at Penn. It won second place in the Lingnan Culture studies Research Paper Competition at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Currently a first-year PhD student in the History Department at Cornell University, he will be flown to Hong Kong for a presentation and award ceremony.
