Penn Student wins First Place at the Mid-Atlantic Korean Speech Contest

Three students from the Penn Korean Language Program participated in the fourth Mid-Atlantic Korean Speech Contest, virtually held at George Washington University on Friday, April 11th:

Ana Lin Richardson won the First Place Award (Level 3) for her speech, “Nuclear Power and the ‘Only Way’ Forward,” earning a $1,000 scholarship. 

Fatimah Bisiriyu (Level 1) and Brandon Kwon (Level 2) each received a Regional Finalist Certificate for their speeches, “Learning Korean, Taking Flight” and “2025 Boyfriend Look: How to Dress to Win Her Heart,” respectively.
