Joonyoung Lee

Joonyoung is a MA student in the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests are comprised of East Asian cinema and Philosophy East and West. His previous research includes examining Post-Fukushima discourse portrayed in Your Name (2016), incorporating Bergson's theory of laughter in Korean Cinema, and analyzing philosophical discourse of Empire of Japan through the lens of Jun Tosaka and Nanbara Shigeru. 

Joonyoung likes to spend his weekend in Philadelphia Film Center, religiously following its SIGHT AND SOUND 100 program.
