Finalists for Penn Grad Talks have been chosen, and EALC’s very own Marina de Melo do Nascimento is among this esteemed group. Congratulations to Marina for making it this far!

The Talks can be attended in person or virtually on Friday, February 21st at 12PM.  Humanities-specific presentations begin at 1PM, and Marina will be starting that segment, so if you are pressed for time but still want to support her, know that she will be starting at 1PM sharp.

Importantly, the winner of one of the award categories is selected by the number of votes cast – you can do this whether you are watching Penn Grad Talks online or in person.  Please support Marina’s presentation of her talk, Silent Dissent: How Girls’ Magazines in Wartime Japan Negotiated Empire and Expression.  It promises to be fascinating, and we would expect no less from her.
